Apply to the Maryland State Department of Education Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS)

DORS helps high school seniors with jobs, careers, higher education, job training or independent living. DORS rehabilitation counselors help students with disabilities prepare for the future. Depending on your young adult’s skills and interests, DORS may: help your young adult find and keep a summer job; support college or technical school training; coordinate on-the-job training, mentoring and internships with local employers; arrange for services and testing to identify skills and abilities; help your family learn about assistive technology; refer to the Workforce & Technology Center’s summer programs that help students who are blind and students with learning disabilities prepare for college; and help your young adult enroll in programs that teach job-seeking and job-keeping skills.
