Interactive Online Workshop: Autism and Epilepsy in Adults

Autism frequently co-occurs with any of a long list of other conditions, but none may be more closely linked than epilepsy.  A significant number of autistic individuals also have epilepsy, according to some reports, suggesting that the two conditions share underlying biology. It’s not yet clear how epilepsy contributes to autism or how genetic syndromes associated with autism also cause epilepsy. Medical treatments for epilepsy may affect autistic behaviors, communication, and mood. Join Peter Crino, MD, PhD, from the University of Maryland School of Medicine as he discusses epilepsy and autism in adults.
