Started in 2010, AccessAbility MedCare serves special needs children/youth, including those approved under the Autism Waiver. AccessAbility MedCare offers programming every day, including after-school/home and community services Monday through Friday; specialized music & movement program on Saturdays; dog therapy followed by group swim on Sundays;  and Theme Camps all through the summer, winter and spring breaks.

AccessAbility MedCare continues to expand care using a community engagement model. In 2013, Adult Life Planning consultation was added. In 2015, a new therapy center in Derwood, Maryland, opened that features experienced Transition Specialists, certified Support Brokers, and Vocational Training programs. Our agency stands out as a Center of Excellence in assisting transitioning youth and their families from childhood disability services to adult disability services.

ACRP Alternative School/Johnstownis a partnership of the Alternative Community Resource Program and school districts in Cambria County and adjacent counties. The school offers alternative educational options for disruptive youth in junior high and senior high. The Alternative Education site services (15) different school district's students.Everyday in our region there are children who struggle with abuse; neglect or psychological and emotional disorders that keep them from living a normal happy life. It is the mission of The Alternative Community Resource Program to respond to the needs of such children and their families. ACRP works as an alternative to placement while providing comprehensive programs and treatment to address emotional; behavioral; and academic issues. This service spectrum includes treatment for adults through our Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic. At ACRP Individuals are afforded the opportunity for personal growth and development regardless of race; color; gender; religion; or sexual orientation.
