We offer a sensory-friendly experience on the first Sunday of every month at participating locations, opening our stores two hours before their normal opening time. Our Sensory Sensory events include a trained and caring staff that work to ensure each guest has a fun-filled visit. We realize that the Chuck E. experience can be very stimulating for any child, so our mission is to create an event that allows ALL kids to be a kid.

This activity is FREE to register! Please register one email that will receive access to the Zoom link and indicate how many BINGO cards your family will need (up to 6 per family). Once registration is closed, 48 hours before our BINGO Game, you will receive a Zoom link for our game and a link to access your bingo cards. Each person will use ONE Bingo card. We will play 4 games, so you can either print your card 4 times, or use your card online and you will be able to clear your card each time. Register below.

Autistic Authors Panel: Inspiration for Summer Reading

Looking for inspiration for your child's summer reading? Join xMinds on Thursday, June 8 at 7:00 PM for a panel discussion with five autistic authors of literature for children and young adults. These authors will discuss discuss their writing processes, their insights as autistic authors, and how they’ve incorporated autistic and neurodiverse characters into their books. Moderator, Meera Trehan, parent of an autistic child, will lead the discussion.

Panel discussion will be followed by Q&A with the audience.

xMinds - Preschool and Elementary Parents Playground Meetup

Hosted by the xMinds Preschool and Elementary Parent Outreach Committee

Date: Saturday, June 17, 2023. Rain date June 24.

Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Location: The Ivymount School, 11614 Seven Locks Rd, Rockville, MD 20854 (the back playground)

Future dates/Locations: Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 PM. Starting in June we will meet on Saturdays again -- the third Saturday of each month @ 10 to 11:30. For these warm months we'll be meeting at the Ivymount playground.

Cost: Free! (All xMinds events are free)

The xMinds Preschool and Elementary Parent Outreach Committee is hosting a monthly playground meetup for parents of young autistic students who want to connect in person! Your whole family is welcome -- bring siblings even if they're not elementary or preschool age.

Take this opportunity to meet other local parents while your kids enjoy themselves on the playground (and in colder months at a gym). xMinds board member Melanie Carlos will be there to welcome you and to provide snacks.

Join us for an informative session that will arm you with tools and resources to utilize as you begin your journey as an "Autism parent or caregiver."

This event will be led by professionals who specialize in behavior and supporting families like yours

About the organization:

We affirm children, teens, and young adults who exhibit social, emotional, learning, and behavioral concerns using Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) with a strengths-based and trauma informed approach. We not only uplift children and teens , but empower parents and siblings of our neurodivergent and/or disabled clients with the common goal of enhancing the quality of life for the entire household through the provision of mental health services, parent guidance, advocacy tools, and group sessions.
