Looking for a camp for your child to make friends, spend time outside, and explore nature? SENSE-sational Summers at Meadowside is a program intentionally designed for campers with different abilities. During the week, campers will go on hikes, learn about ecosystems and habitats, meet the nature center animals, explore Rock Creek, and make crafts. *Nature Camp will provide a low staff-camper ratio of 1:2 with a small camp size. Every camper and parent/guardian must complete a Modification Intake Form to help us learn more about each camper and to develop activities that support all abilities. Activities are subject to change due to inclement weather and camper needs and interest. One on one supervision will not be provided. Most outdoor surfaces are not paved, and the trails will be a mix of uneven dirt (small hills, tree roots, and small rocks), grass, and/or mulch. This is a half-day, week-long camp, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
This camp will take place at Meadowside Nature Center. Please note that exhibits at the nature center will not be available to campers due to renovations.
This event will be an annual event that will create a platform where Autism Ally Group will continue to Educate, Empower, provide Resources, Train, and Encourage Caregivers, both local and international subject matter experts to address challenges and matters in the community we serve.
What Families Need to Know About Planning for a Loved One with Special Needs
June 22, 2022 –
Presented by Elville and Associates’ Managing Principal and Lead Attorney Stephen R. Elville, webinar attendees will come to understand what is involved in the planning process for a special needs family and the importance of preserving your loved one’s financial security and quality of life.
The key issues of understanding the role of public benefits, making decisions about the future, Maryland ABLE, and using estate planning and trusts to protect assets will be discussed along with the types of special needs trusts and their specific purposes (along with who the decision makers and beneficiaries can be in these trusts). Also, to be touched upon will be the “planning team concept” — how your planning team (attorney, financial advisor, CPA) — can work together to help provide your family peace of mind during the special needs planning process.
Should you have questions ahead of time, please contact Community Relations Director Jeff Stauffer at 443-216-9626 x117.
Open to clients, advisors and the general public. For Certified Financial Planners, CPAs, and other professionals 1.5 continuing education hours will be available for attending this presentation. We look forward to hosting you!
