Free Developmental Screenings for Children and Youth

Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology students, under supervision of licensed therapists, are offering free developmental screenings for children from birth to Age 4. The screenings provide you with a valuable opportunity to understand how your child’s development compares to typical development in the areas of gross motor, visual motor integration, cognitive-perception, sensory organization, speech, language, and hearing. Consultation regarding the results of the screening will be provided.

Virginia Spielmann, MSOT is the Executive Director of STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder in Greenwood Village Colorado. STAR is a global leader in education, treatment and research for sensory processing through the lifespan. She is a DIR/Floortime Training Leader and Expert and clinical consultant for the Interdisciplinary Council for Development and Learning (ICDL). Her extensive pediatric experience includes children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with Sensory Processing Disorder, infant mental health issues, children from adopted families and those who have experienced developmental trauma.
Harford County Residents! We know the holidays can be hard for your family. Come join us at Oak Grove Baptist Church for a free Thanksgiving meal for any families affected by special needs. This event is for residents of Harford County only. Registration is required as we need to have a tentative number so we can ensure we have plenty of food! Our meal is catered by Cracker Barrel and will consist of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits, cornbread muffins, desserts, and drinks.
