This workshop will delve into the situations that arise after the death of a client, client’s family member, or loved one and the trust and estate administration that takes place during that time. Helping advisors and family members understand what their roles are in helping clients and loved ones through the legal process, what that legal process is, and how advisors and other planning team members can best work together in support of clients is of paramount importance during this challenging time for all involved.Learning Objectives:

Parent Child Journey -- An Individualized Approach to Raising Your Challenging ChildDr. Dan Shapiro’s Parent Child Journey – An Individualized Approach for Raising Your Challenging Child is a 10-session program for parents of children (ages preschool through early adolescence) with difficult behaviors. It is designed to help parents identify the sources of their children’s challenges and learn what they can do about them. During each session, we will discuss proactive strategies for raising children with difficult temperaments and developmental differences. In this workshop, parents and caregivers will learn about causes of depression, how to identify signs of depression versus naturally occurring teen moodiness, prevention strategies that can be completed by parents and/ or their child, and how to assist your child through their depression. What can we do?Children and teens with executive functioning challenges may have difficulty getting organized, approach tasks haphazardly, forget to turn in homework, struggle to remember important information, and have problems regulating their emotions and behavior. Weaknesses in these brain-based “executive functions” have far-reaching developmental impact, causing students to repeatedly fall short of expectations at home and at school. Parents and teachers may feel overwhelmed and helpless as they try to help.However, a better understanding of executive functioning and how it develops can guide our efforts to help struggling youth, as well as bring hope and compassion into our relationships with these students. As we build our own understanding, we change not only how we approach our efforts to help, but also the way we respond to students’ missteps.In this presentation, Dr. Cooper-Kahn will discuss what is known about executive functioning, how change happens, and how we can help struggling students. The B&O is proud to offer the first in a series of Sensory Friendly Days for children and guests with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences. The museum will be opening one hour early at 10am on the following Sundays to accommodate our guests and their families: March 24, May 19, June 9, July 21, August 18, September 15, & October 20.
This more accessible museum experience features added signage and modified lighting & sounds, as well as the presence of additional volunteers and staff to support visitors throughout their stay. Sensory kits will be stationed throughout the Museum's campus and include feeling charts, break timers, fidgets, stress balls, and noise canceling headphones.
If smaller crowds, specialized activities, less sound and light stimuli, and a designated quiet room will make it easier for you or your child to explore all that the B&O has to offer, this is the day for you! Event is free with general admission.

Teen & Adult Online Peers Social Skills Group & Parent Consultation.–
Teen & Adult Online Peers Social Skills Group & Parent Consultation.We are offering two Online Social Skills Groups this fall.
Our Teen/Adult Group is geared for individuals between the ages of 15-21 years. The group is taught by a licensed BCBA and we utilize the PEERS ® Curriculum to teach and practice a variety of social skills. Each week consists of a Social Group meeting for the participants to learn and practice skills followed by a parent meeting to learn the next week’s lessons and how to support their child. All meetings take place through our HIPAA compliant video-conferencing software, Zoom.
Teen/Adult Group: Meetings every Monday from 5-7pm from September 16th to October 28th via Zoom

Child & Parent: Play with a PurposeFamilies are invited to attend a weekly play and learning time with their child: birth to age 5 of all abilities. Children will learn through play and parents/caregivers will be able to access resources and support from the staff of the Parent Resource Center. Join us for playtime, crafts, social skills, and music & movement activities.

Parent Child Journey -- An Individualized Approach to Raising Your Challenging ChildDr. Dan Shapiro’s Parent Child Journey – An Individualized Approach for Raising Your Challenging Child is a 10-session program for parents of children (ages preschool through early adolescence) with difficult behaviors. It is designed to help parents identify the sources of their children’s challenges and learn what they can do about them. During each session, we will discuss proactive strategies for raising children with difficult temperaments and developmental differences. The emphasis is on customizing the strategy to fit each child’s unique profile while taking parents’ profiles into account as well. Different children, different parents, different approaches.
