This is a 10 hour self-paced online training. Developed by Grace Myhill, MSW, the course includes in depth lectures from Grace and other experts in the field, including insights and observations from a panel of therapists who work with neurodiverse couples. Bye Bye Birdie (Sensory Friendly Performance
Bye Bye Birdie (Sensory Friendly PerformanceFebruary 22, 2020 –
Join the Connelly School of the Holy Child community as they tell the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to go into the army with their upcoming performance of Bye Bye Birdie. Watch Holy Child students and guest actors from Landon and the Heights School put on a performance of this classic musical act on Friday, February 28th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, February 29th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm and on February 22 at 11:00 am for a special sensory friendly performance.
You can also join Holy Child on February 22nd at 11am for our sensory friendly performance of Bye Bye Birdie. For this performance, the house lights are only turned down slightly and the music is soft! The audience is permitted (and encouraged) to get up and walk around or even dance. One of the benefits of a sensory friendly performance is that kids are free to be who they are and do what they need to do (sing, talk, walk around, dance, flap, carry an iPad) – things that are typically discouraged in traditional theater settings. There will be a quiet room available as well in case someone needs a break.
No ticket required.
