| Thank you for your continued support of Pathfinders for Autism. Sadly, after monitoring the weather closely and consulting with our Zoo partners and Charm City Run, we have made the decision to cancel our 13th Annual Run Wild for Autism in Baltimore. Because of the volume of rain on Saturday into Saturday evening and continued rain through Sunday morning, the race activities, and the race itself would be difficult to execute. We are unable to postpone or reschedule the event. We thank you for your understanding. Please read below to see the multiple options that we have available for you and your families to still enjoy the Run Wild experience and support our mission, including access to the Zoo on November 11 (see item 6 below).
What happens next?
Please see the opportunities listed below to ensure we still provide you and your family with the best possible experience.
- If you have not picked up your race packet you can still do so on Saturday at Charm City Run in Timonium from 10 am-Noon. You can pick up your shirts at this time and bibs if you wish to complete the virtual option (see below).
- You have the option to run your race virtually if you would like. There are no steps you need to switch to virtual, and you can report your results anytime from September 22nd to October 1 by clicking “Submit Your Results” on the results page here.
- We are hosting our 3rd Annual Run Wild for Autism Assateague Island next Sunday, October 1st at Assateague Island State Park. This is a casual 1 mile and 2-mile fun run (no chip timing) on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The race starts at 9 am on October 1st. If you wish to transfer to this event, please follow the steps listed here:
- Go to your runsignup.com profile page.
- Click “Manage registration” to the right of the race listing under your upcoming events.
- Select Transfer Race from top menu.
- Select Run Wild for Autism Assateague and complete process.
- We are also hosting a casual Family Fun Run on Saturday, October 14that Stone View Farm in Darlington, MD. This run/walk is 1 mile in length (no chip timing) through the farm’s famous corn maze. We are offering a special $10 rate for all of YOU. Wear your shirt, show your support and enjoy another way to race with us. Your $10 fee includes access to the Cornmaze and all fall activities on the farm. To register for this event with your special $10 rate, click here.
- T-Shirt Pick Up Dates: We know how much you all love the shirts each year and this year’s shirts are the coolest! We have set up 3 in office days for you to come to Pathfinders for Autism in Hunt Valley (235 Schilling Circle, Suite 103, Hunt Valley, MD 21031) and pick up your shirts, if you have not already.
- Tuesday, October 3rd from 12 pm to 2 pm
- Wednesday, October 4th from 8 am to 10 am
- Thursday, October 5th from 4 pm to 6 pm
- Finally, we know you all love visiting the Zoo after the race and our partners at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore have set up a special day for you to visit the Zoo free of charge. This is for REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ONLY. If you wish to bring a guest with you on that day, they can pay for their Zoo pass and join you inside. The Zoo Pass day is set for Saturday, November 11. PFA Staff will be in the Pavilion outside the Main Gate from 10 am until Noon with a list of registered participants and zoo wristbands for access to the zoo. Zoo passes are good for NOVEMBER 11 ONLY. You must arrive by NOON to receive your passes and enjoy the Zoo.
