You and your consultant will have the opportunity to develop critical life goals for your child.Communication and Social Skills InstructionThe behavior analyst will help your family develop a personalized communication system for your child that promotes the opportunity for your child to express individualized thinking by expressing wants, needs, and feelings. Children will learn to develop social skills to use in the appropriate setting.School ConsultationBehavior plans will be developed to fit the needs of your child in the school environment. The behavior analyst will collaborate with your child’s teacher in the implementation of the plan as well as participate in IEP development and team meetings.Family TrainingAfter the development of a home behavior plan, the behavior consultant will assist the family in the maintenance of the plan. Parents will have the opportunity to consult with the therapist and receive training and follow up support.Community Based InstructionChildren will have the opportunity to generalize critical life skills within the community. This assessment will determine an individuals current levels of communication, barriers that prevent language acquisition, progress throughout treatment, and activities that promote communication skills, and guidelines for establishing appropriate IEP goals and individual program design.A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is a systematic method of assessment designed to obtain information about the purposes of problematic behavior. The results of assessment are used to decrease the problem behavior while increasing appropriate behaviors.
