Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, applies the understanding of behaviors–how they work, how they are impacted by the environment around them, how they change–to real situations, with the aim of increasing constructive behaviors and decreasing the actions that negatively impact learning and growth. ABA therapies and interventions help children develop their ability to communicate, increase their ability to focus, concentrate and follow directions, and improve their social skills. In short, ABA practitioners help children work towards meaningful behavioral goals to improve the quality of life for both the children and their families.
