You must be a Talbot County resident and have a documented developmental disability. A developmental disability is defined as a disability with onset prior to the age of twenty-two resulting in significant cognitive impairment; developmental delays; and/or deficits in social functioning. Types of developmental disabilities include mental retardation; cerebral palsy; multiple sclerosis; muscular dystrophy; some types of autism; spina bifida; and other chromosomal and genetic disorders.Services in Maryland are not entitlements. Your eligibility letter will address specific services and categories for which you are eligible. Services are Residential; Day Habilitation; Supported Employment; Individual Support Services; and Community Supported Living Arrangements. Services are driven by the available funding and funding is established each year through the legislative process.
