Halcyon is a large behavioral center with specialized supports and accommodations for children with autism. A sensory room and classroom, along with a game room and play therapy room allows a range of services for therapy in a more naturalistic setting. Halcyon offers children with autism and their families a supportive environment to participate in parent training, individual counseling, group and play therapy, and specialized programs that address challenges and issues pertaining to the autism diagnosis. Specialized programs that emphasize peer interactions and socialization with a range of children allow children with autism to participate in activities and learning in a mainstream therapeutic environment with supports from licensed therapists. Executive function training, anxiety coping strategies, social and pragmatic teaching, and emotional regulation coaching all serve to provide children with the tools to navigate their environment. A resiliency based summer camp also allow children to engage in typically developing activities and enrichments under the careful supervision of therapists in an all day camp.
