Federal Employees

Federal Employee Health Plan

Beginning in 2017, ALL Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) plans are required to cover Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) benefits for children on the autism spectrum.

Military 

TRICARE covers Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Board-Certified Behavior Analysts for all TRICARE eligible beneficiaries who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Comprehensive Autism Care Demonstration (CACD) supports one-to-one services and tiered delivery services, depending on the unique needs of the beneficiary.

The Extended Care Health Option (ECHO) provides financial assistance for an integrated set of services and supplies to eligible active duty family members enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).

Medicaid

Effective January 1, 2017, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will cover medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services for Maryland Medical Assistance enrolled members under the age of 21. Frequently Asked Questions about ABA from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

ABA services for all Medicaid recipients will be managed by Beacon Health Options Maryland.
