At CAP we offer a customized comprehensive ABA plan that can include:

• Team consisting of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and a trained Behavior Therapist (BT)
• Comprehensive Assessment using criterion-references assessments such as ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP & AFLS
• Individualized ABA programming
• Parent/Family/Caregiver Training
• Crisis Management Training
• Functional Assessment to determine why problem behaviors occur
• Behavior Intervention Plan if necessary to decrease severe interfering problematic behavior
• Functional Communication Training to replace problem behaviors with appropriate behavior
• Daily Living Skills
• Social skills Assessment and Curriculum
• Regularly scheduled social skills group that works on individual social skills in the community
• Natural Environment Teaching (NET) to include generalization of learned skills into the community
• Collaboration with school and additional therapies (PT, OT, Speech)
• School readiness programs in Alexandria and Fredericksburg

Each child and adolescent receives a thorough diagnostic assessment; which can include complete psychological and neuropsychological testing; Individualized psychotherapy; cognitive behavioral psychotherapy and family psychotherapy sciences are available. The treatment of the patient often involves several sessions for full diagnostic assessment.

Having IEP team meetings facilitated by an independent; trained "facilitator" is rapidly becoming a popular means for parents and school personnel to reach agreement in the educational decision making process for students needing or suspected of needing special education services. The independent facilitator is a trained volunteer from a community mediation center; generally located in the jurisdiction where the student attends school; or in another community close to where the student attends school. The independent facilitator has completed a 50-hour training course in mediation skills; has experience mediating a variety of disputes; and has completed a 3-day training in IEP Team Meeting Facilitation. The independent facilitator is not a member of the IEP team and does not have a relationship with the school or the parents; other than to assist in the meeting. The independent facilitator remains neutral and focuses on the process while the team makes the decisions. There is no cost; to the parent or the school; to have an independent facilitator assist in the IEP process.
