Mona received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Maryland in special education. She has been in the education field for over two decades. Her career started in the classroom working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities, as well as general education students in several settings as a special education teacher. Later in her career, she became an IEP facilitator assisting schools in meeting federal and state timelines as well as supporting teachers to provide well written IEPs and services for their students. Her journey with special education led her to become a support broker for adults with special needs accessing waivers through DDA in 2017.  She is currently accepting individuals that need minimal support (an hour per month or less). This will best service families that need a support broker if the family is working as support staff for the individual due to the new DDA requirement.

HealthCare Access Maryland is a nonprofit agency that connects residents to public health care coverage and helps them navigate services effectively. We work with individuals, hospitals, policymakers and social services organizations to strengthen Maryland’s health care delivery system and make Maryland healthier.

Healthy Beginnings is a part of the Verbal Beginnings ABA therapy group, based out of Columbia, MD. Healthy Beginnings is an outpatient pediatric program to address feeding challenges, such as selective eating, food/liquid refusal, feeding tube dependence, liquid dependence, as well as functional skills such as self-feeding. A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) oversees all aspects of treatment and each treatment program is individualized based off of the child's needs. These services are available to the child that demonstrates problematic mealtime behavior, regardless of diagnosis. This program consists of assessment of mealtime behavior, 1:1 intervention, and parent training. Weekly and daily appointments are available, depending upon the needs of the child.

A home visiting program for families of very young children. Its purpose is to enhance parent child interactions and prevent child abuse and neglect.
