The Arrow Center for Education - Tangram is a private; nonpublic special education day school that addresses the unique needs of students with autism or whose needs require a similar level of support and service. Students are aged 8 to 21 in grades 3-12 and may be working towards a high school diploma or certificate. The primary goal of the educational program at Tangram is to help students reach their potential in the areas of academics; behavior; social skills; and life skills.

Ages served: 11-21. Disabilities served- emotional disturbance; other health impairments; specific learning disabilities; multiple disabilities. The Arrow Center for Education is a small; nurturing; structured and supportive; self-contained middle and high school program that provides special education and clinical services to students who are primarily emotionally disturbed and in many cases may also have specific learning disabilities or mild intellectual limitations.

Creative explorers of all ages and experience are directed to explore their creative spirit in a supportive atmosphere. Artists are encouraged to use their imagination to play; explore and connect while having fun. Classes are different from traditional art classes where technique; style and outcome are emphasized. Classes encourage free creative expression; using a mixture of the arts ? art; movement; music and percussion. Private and group lessons are offered for kids; teens; and adults.

ArtStream is a regional organization based in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area whose mission is to create artistic opportunities for individuals in communities traditionally under-served by the arts. We are a consortium of compassionate; professional; experienced artists who wish to serve the needs of our clients. Our goal is to reach out to members in various groups such as persons with disabilities; seniors; people with short or long term illnesses and their families or caregivers; immigrants; veterans; people who are grieving; and students and teachers. Our purpose is to inspire and help heal through various art forms such as theatre; puppetry; visual arts; multimedia; music; and dance. This is accomplished through interactive workshops and productions; on-going classes; seminars; performances; and training.

ArtStream holds performing arts opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism. In our classes, workshops, theatre companies, and cabarets, students improve their communication, social, and advocacy skills while building friendships. We believe that through collaborative performance and lifelong learning opportunities, that individuals with disabilities gain the skills and confidence to engage with the world.
