To promote; support; and advocate for the education of diploma-bound students on the autism spectrum in grades K–12.Our goal is to empower parents and teachers with quality information to help them understand children on the autism spectrum; to reach them; and to teach them. We support families and educators by presenting information that is essential to effectively collaborate to improve the educational experiences and outcomes of students with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. This information includes: The characteristics of autism/Aspergers and how these characteristics affect the child's behavior and learning style Strategies that are effective in helping these children engage in the curriculum; form peer relationships; and be included in the school community The IEP process; including sample goals and objectives Educational placements; services; and accommodations available in Montgomery County Public Schools
