The mission of the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia is to provide multi-disciplinary education and research opportunities for students; teachers; professionals; and parents who seek to improve and extend opportunities; outcomes; quality of life and best practices in treatment for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The Center offers services; resources; and information; support and guidance; and tools for public and individual advocacy that contributes to improved autism awareness and care. The Kinney Center is committed to Saint Joseph's Jesuit mission; its belief in cura personalis or "care of the whole person" serves as the underlying foundation for all Center activities. Center programs and services strive toward the fullest personal growth of people with ASD by empowering the development of the whole person and promoting justice; kindness; and compassion for all those impacted by autism. All activities promote the acceptance of individuals with autism so that they may live their lives with dignity and respect as valued members of society
