Welcome to Carolina and Maryland Behavioral Specialists (CMBS)! We are an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) group providing services in and around the Charleston, South Carolina and Baltimore, Maryland areas. CMBS is a minority-, employee-, and BCBA-owned small business. We are progressive, focused on compassionate care, and a neurodiversity-affirming practice. CMBS is made up of a diverse group of loving therapists, including many who are neurodiverse. We cannot wait to meet you! The Behavioral Specialists Team strives to provide you and your loved ones with ABA therapy you can trust to make a difference. Our staff is highly trained and experienced with all types of learners. We primarily work with individuals aged 0-17. Due to insurance requirements, a diagnosis of autism is required for ABA coverage. However, please feel free to inquire about other diagnoses as we offer private pay options. Our methodology includes the Verbal Behavior (VB) Approach, errorless teaching, and making learning fun through positive reinforcement! Each of our students are eligible for this service through their insurance, and is how we begin the therapy process. The initial assessment will be conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, or BCBA, and will identify the areas we feel we can support. Such goals will be included on your child's initial treatment plan, and include language, social interactions, behaviors of concern, and self-care skills!
