Travel with an Angel, LTD., a non profit, is dedicated to assisting Special Needs Families as they venture out into the travel industry. They provide three main services: Volunteer Respite Services, Respite Training, and Special Needs Awareness Education. Volunteer Respite Services are designed to help Special Needs Families by providing an extra set of hands while on vacation. The typical services include general caregiving, dressing, feeding, taking clients to activities and spending time getting to know one another. The training aspect includes First Aid, CPR and de-escalation techniques with emphasis on learning how to care for a person with Special Needs. They are putting together 4 cruises a year where they (and their team) will travel with the group, helping the parents out throughout their vacation. The Special Needs Awareness Education is provided by Harold and Lori Darner; Harold is an Ordained Special Need Pastor with a Master’s in Divinity from Liberty University as well as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) finishing his Master’s in Special Education Applied Behavior Analysis at Cairn University. He has over 10 years of experience with Special Needs Families as an advocate and father to a Special Needs Daughter. Lori is a dedicated mother to a Special Needs Daughter and is the founder of Spout Spring Special Needs Program who has been advocating for Special Needs Families for over 10 years. Together Lori and Harold will educate the group on lessons learned while traveling with Special Needs, how to ask for services that are readily available, and they will host question and answer sessions as well.
