Beth Nolan is the co-founder of Education Team Allies. As a former educator and school and district level leader Beth, along with a colleague, founded Education Team Allies due to an identified need within the local education community. She takes a non-adversarial, collaborative approach that allows for families to collaborate with school based teams around their child’s IEP or 504 plan. Beth wholeheartedly believes in the following:
- A truly student-centered approach with a focus on collaboration, teamwork, and empathy
- Educating and empowering all involved team members so that they may effectively advocate for the best interest of the student at the center of the IEP or 504 process
- We are ALL in this together!
At Education Team Allies, the main focus is coaching and educating parents so that they may understand how to best advocate for what their child needs when it comes to the IEP or 504 process. When a parent better understands the process, their role, and their children’s rights, they can be confident in their voice at the meeting table and, therefore, effectively advocate for their child’s needs. The work Education Team Allies engages in includes reviewing IEP and 504’s and other related school documents; attending IEP or 504 meetings with parents; and providing in-service training to school staff, organizations, and any other provider(s) that may see our services as beneficial to their clientele base.
