CSAAC’s Intensive Early Intervention (IEI) program is an applied behavior analysis program based on a method developed by Dr. O. Ivar Lovaas at UCLA in early intervention and discrete trial training for individuals with autism. CSAAC’s IEI program serves children; age 17 months to 10; who receive between 6 to 30 hours of weekly; one-to-one intervention in their home as part of a long-term; comprehensive; and results-oriented treatment program for children with developmental disabilities.CSAAC oversees 51 homes in Montgomery County; MD; providing community living to children and adults with autism. Homes are staffed around the clock by counselors who teach independent living skills such as housekeeping; personal hygiene; shopping; money management; communication; telephone use; and leisure activities. These homes provide individuals with an alternative to living in an institution or in their parents' homes; and allow residents to exercise independence as adults.
