We are excited to introduce Bretton Woods Adaptive: An integrated outdoor adventure and day camp program that provides outdoor adventure and traditional day camp to children of all abilities and learning needs.
There are three programs within Bretton Woods Adaptive:
Summer Adventure Camp for Children 8-16, Summer day camp for children 6 to 15 and One on One Guided Adventures for Children of all ages all year.
The Adaptive Summer Adventure and day Camps integrates 1-3 campers with special learning, sensory, social or motor needs into Bretton Woods’ Adventure Camp Program. The small group of campers will have their own trained staff and volunteers and will function as small group within the adventure camp and with a traditional group of similarly aged campers. The adaptive camp staff under the guidance of Christine and Dave will modify activities to meet the abilities of the campers. Adaptive staff will provide structure during down time like transitions, wait time during activities and help foster positive social interaction with peers during games or exploration. This program is very flexible and designed for campers who are able to integrate into a group of peers, but who might need support with sensory motor, self-regulation, social or motor planning needs.
For those campers who benefit from more structure and support, we offer a one on one camp experience with our adaptive staff. This is a more specialized program to integrate the camper into adventure & day camp daily with more accommodations. This program is very flexible and designed to accept campers who are in a self-contained classroom, who might have more significant communication, sensory motor, self-regulation, gross and fine motor needs.
