CITG provides comprehensive speech; language; and feeding evaluations and individual and group therapy sessions. The goal of our enthusiastic and caring team of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) is to help every child reach their maximum potential. We work closely with our families to develop the best individualized program for your child.

 All of our therapists are Maryland licensed and American Speech-Language Hearing (ASHA) certified SLPs. They have expertise in the development of speech; language; feeding; social skills; play; auditory processing; and reading and writing skills. Our skilled SLPs have advanced training in:

We are excited about our continued collaboration with our founder; Diane Lewis MA; CCC-SLP. We also share an office suite with the occupational therapists at Canyon Kids; LLC. We believe in treating the whole child; so we are happy to collaborate with any professionals that are currently working with your child.

On any given day, we help hundreds of children solve problems that no child should face. No child should have to wait months to meet with a therapist who can treat their depression. No grandparent should be without support when they step in to take care of their grandchild. No student should have to fight for the special education services she needs to learn. No parent should have to go to court to ensure their landlord fixes the moldy floor that is sending their child with asthma to the ER.

Together with DC children and families, community partners and pro bono attorneys, we use the law to solve children’s urgent problems today and improve the systems that will affect their lives tomorrow. Since our founding in 1996, we have reached more than 50,000 children and families directly and multiplied our impact by advocating for city-wide solutions that benefit hundreds of thousands more.

Children’s Medical Services, also called CMS, is a program of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. CMS can help low-income, uninsured or underinsured Marylanders ages 0-21 years get specialty care for a chronic illness or disability by paying for needed services.
