The mission of The Foundation Schools is to provide a highly specialized educational and therapeutic program for children and adolescents in grades 1-12 with emotional disabilities and prepare them to be productive and successful in their future academic and career paths. All of our teachers are certified in special education and in their content area. The Foundation Schools accepts referrals from local school systems; educational advocates; attorneys; parents; guardians; and mental health agencies. Our focus is improving outcomes for all students by providing an integrated approach addressing each student’s unique academic; behavioral and social/emotional needs in a safe and supportive learning environment. We are approved by the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia and adhere to State and District standards and assessments.

The Freedom Center is a consumer controlled, community based nonprofit organization committed to providing a wide array of services to assist individuals with disabilities to live independently, pursue meaningful goals, and have the same opportunities and choices as all persons. Our mission is to offer services and supports to empower individuals with disabilities to lead self-directed, independent, and productive lives in a barrier-free community.

The Guided Tour provides professionally supervised vacations for adults with developmental challenges including; but not limited to the following: down syndrome; autism; learning disabilities; Williams Syndrome; Asperger Syndrome; ADD; Prader Willi; and ADHD. Our unique program provides recreation and socialization for our special needs travelers.

Our soical club exists to bring people together in a spirit of friendship, inclusion, and genuine commection. We create welcoming spaces where members can share experiences, explore new interests, and build meaningful relationships. Through gatherings, activities, and community engagement, we foster a culture of joy, respect, and belonging-celebrating the unique contributions each person brings to our shared community. Our programs are through Carroll County Recreation & Parks.
