FUNDING FOCUS: EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND BASIC NEEDS - LOWER SHORE COUNTIES ONLY

Has four departments: Cash Assistance for Emergency Needs; a Dining Room serving a hot lunch; a Hospitality Room for the Homeless; and a Food Pantry. Serves as an on-going assistance program for individuals and families in need from the Lower Shore counties of Maryland; Delaware; and Virginia.

The Kids' Communication Center is a pediatric speech-language therapy practice located in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. We provide comprehensive speech-language evaluations and treatment; typically to children between the ages of two and eight; and address a wide range of communication issues. Individual and group therapy sessions are available; school visits may also be available upon request. All of our talented speech-language pathologists have Master's degrees; are licensed in the District of Columbia and are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). Most have received training in both PROMPT and oral-motor therapy techniques.The Kids' Communication Center therapists believe that it is important to collaborate with everyone who is involved in a child's care. This includes parents; nannies/caretakers; teachers; doctors; and other professionals. In fact; The Kids' Communication Center shares office space with a separate pediatric occupational therapy practice called Leaps and Bounds. In order to minimize transitions for the child and to convenience the parents; our two businesses will try to provide back-to-back speech and occupational therapy sessions when requested.Our Office At The Kids' Communication Center; we strive to create a treatment environment that is safe;nurturing; and fun. We believe that children learn best through play and; therefore; employ a play-based approach during our speech therapy sessions. It is also important that each child feels successful; we are always balancing the level of challenge with the level of support.We have two large treatment areas modeled after occupational therapy "gyms." They are equipped with squishy floor mats; giant pillows; a colorful ball pit; climbing wall; trampoline;zip line; and a number of interchangeable swings that can be hung from the ceiling.

The Language and Behavior Center provides in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children ages 0-12 in Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Frederick, and Queen Anne's Counties. The Language and Behavior Center believes that a child's natural environment is the best place for them to learn. Our clinicians follow your child's lead and incorporate learning opportunities into their play. By using naturally occurring opportunities for skill development, clinicians are able to facilitate skill development in an enjoyable way! TLBC's evidence-based treatment is built on a foundation of parent involvement. From the start of services, parents are trained on techniques that will allow their child to flourish outside of a therapy setting.

The Language and Behavior Center provides comprehensive developmental support services for children and their families. We offer a play-based approach to all of our services and are committed to working with your family to ensure the services you receive are in line with your values and goals. Currently, TLBC provides in-home ABA, center-based ABA, social skills groups, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and parent consultations.
