FUNDING FOCUS: EDUCATION (NOT COLLEGE)

The Maggie Welby Foundation offers grants for children and families that have a financial need for a particular purpose. Grants may extend to children and families in need of help with bills; athletic opportunities; medical needs; or an opportunity that a child would not otherwise have. All grants are awarded to the family; but are paid directly to the specific purpose for which the grant was applied. Organizations that directly benefit children can also receive grants on an annual need. Applicants interested in applying for a grant from The Maggie Welby Foundation must complete all sections of the Grant Application Form including the essay. Include any information that supports your case for a grant from Maggie’s Foundation. All information provided on this application is personal and confidential and will be used solely for the purposes of consideration for a grant. It will not be used in any other capacity. The Maryland Centers for Psychiatry offers specialized and general mental health services for children; adolescents; and adults at multiple locations in Central Maryland with current offices in Ellicott City and Annapolis. The Centers consist of multidisciplinary teams who evaluate a wide range of behavioral; learning; and emotional problems and then design a program of care emphasizing an integrated approach focusing on the uniqueness of each individual and family.

We offer specialized programs with expertise in the early identification; evaluation; and comprehensive psychiatric treatment of adolescents and young adults at risk for; or in the early stages of; a mental illness with psychosis. We use an integrated approach to address the health and mental health needs of young adults; including providing support for co-occurring substance use disorders; and metabolic and other co-occurring medical conditions. The EIP is committed to reducing disability by equipping individuals at risk and their families with tools to manage their illness; move successfully through the developmental stages of growth; and establish a life of their choosing.

The Maryland Masonic Child ID Program (MD CHIP) has provided Maryland parents with an extra measure of security for years. Our volunteers set up at events across the state on a year-round basis.When a child participates in the program; all vital statistics are recorded. The child is photographed and digital fingerprints are taken. Additionally; the child is photographed and a video recording of the child speaking is made. All of the above information is then recorded onto a CD. A cheek swab of the child’s DNA is collected painlessly. Everything is then sealed in an envelope and given to the parent for safekeeping. We retain none of the information.
