ServicesSome local adoption services they offer are Foster Care Placement; Home Study (Domestic) and Parent Education Training (Domestic). Maryland Department of Social Services (Wicomico County DSS) also offers international services including Foster Care Placement; Home Study (Domestic) and Preplacement Parent Eduction/Training (Domestic).

Coordination of Community Services provides information/referral and case management services for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. This program:

• Assists families in locating and arranging diagnostic evaluations, treatment, day programs, residential support and individuals/family support services.
• Provides, for individuals in service, assistance in implementing individual choice addressing individual satisfaction and assuring that the individual’s needs and preferences are addressed through the Individual Plan process.
• Assists the individual in identifying, locating and brokering services, which may include generic programs, natural supports, other state programs including Medicaid State Plan Services and services funded by Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

The Family Support Network (FSN) helps to meet the needs of families with children; birth to 3; with developmental delays or disabilities in Maryland. Each local FSN provides information to families regarding community services; refers families to local support groups; workshops; and advocacy groups; provides opportunities for families to network and share ideas and experiences; and helps to link ?experienced? parents to parents of newly identified children with similar special needs.
