We are a community based non-profit organization. We provide an array of services to people with all disabilities and assist them to set their own goals and discover their personal power. We are one of over 400 Centers for Independent Living in the United States. Centers for Independent Living (CIL) are non-residential, consumer-controlled, community-based, and cross-disability organizations. As such, the majority of our Board of Directors and staff are people with disabilities.  We embrace the Independent Living philosophy and believe that people with disabilities have the right to control and direct their own lives.

Washington, DC area program of ACEing Autism, a national organization that provides affordable weekly tennis clinics to children (5-18 years of age) on the autism spectrum. Each participant is paired with 1 or 2 volunteer instructors based on their needs. The program uses the game of tennis to create interest in physical activity, improve gross and small-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communications, social skills, and self-esteem.

School year sessions are comprised of six, one-hour clinics, held on Saturday or Sunday depending on season and location. Average fee for six clinics is $120; scholarships are readily available. Our Program: Our team of highly-skilled professionals develops an individualized program to teach communication; social/play skills; independence; appropriate behavior and pre academic skills. Beginning with a detailed assessment; a program centered on the specific needs of your child and family is created. Using a comprehensive instructional approach and teaching in natural settings; we draw on your child's interests to make learning fun. Every child's program is supervised by a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
