Our goal is for every person with Down syndrome to have proper fitting clothes made for their unique body shapes. We also want to make clothes that are comfortable; easy to get on and off and that are stylish. Downs Designs clothes are more than just shortening a sleeve or taking up a hem; we take design a step further. Our designs fit appropriately at the knees and elbows. Pants have elastic waistbands with no button or zippers and our new designs have no tag that can irritate the skin. We promise that rolling up sleeves and pant legs will no longer be a problem because each item can be hemmed to your specific length. Uncomfortable clothing will become a thing of the past because we go to extreme measures to select the softest fabric to ensure comfort; stretch and long wear.

Access-ability Sailing - This free; volunteer-run program allows individuals with disabilities to learn to sail. One or two Saturdays each month from April until August; sailors come to the Downtown Sailing Center (DSC) and go sailing; watched over; coached and often accompanied by a tireless group of volunteers; friends and family. No experience is necessary; and many complete novices are able to solo sail (if they want to) on their first or second time out in our small; beautiful and non-capsizable Access dinghies. If you are a person with a disability and want to go sailing; or know someone who does; register early as space is limited.

Dr. Aditya Pawar is a graduate of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical college in India. He completed his first psychiatry residency in India at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and then pursued residency training in the USA in adult psychiatry at The Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, followed by child and adolescent psychiatry training at the Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital where he also served as a chief fellow. Dr. Pawar's clinical interests include adolescent substance use, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. He has been actively engaged in research on early intervention for psychosis, substance use disorders, and the use of technology in childhood disruptive behavior disorders.  He has published his research in prominent international journals, as well as has presented his research at international conferences.

Dr. Ahmed Hefuna is a psychiatrist in Gaithersburg; MD. He received his medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Solutions for Mindfulness has opened new offices in Columbia Maryland providing psychiatric services for adults including evaluation, diagnosis, medication management and therapy services. Solutions for Mindfulness is run by Dr. Onwuanibe, a board certified psychiatrist with over 30 years experience in General Medicine and 17 years experience in Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology.Serves Adults
