Anchored by our philosophy of inclusion, the Melwood Recreation Center plays host to year-long activities designed for people of all abilities. Whether it's a summer at Camp Accomplish, therapeutic trail riding, or traveling with Access Adventures, Melwood strives to enrich the lives of children, youth and adults.

For Check-ups we recommend calling 1 month in advance as those spots fill quickly, especially for summer checkups and sports physicals. For well baby checks, we recommend making your next appointment while you are in the office so that you can always get the date and time that is convenient for you.

The Mental Health Association of Frederick County has served the community as a private, non-profit organization since 1965. A leader in providing services that respond to the changing mental health needs of our community, MHA is the place where people from our community receive support. As our 50-year history illustrates, MHA is dedicated to serving the most vulnerable of our population. Since 1915, the Mental Health Association of Maryland (MHAMD) has been a leader in progressive programs resulting in more effective treatment, improved outcomes for individuals, increased research and greater public understanding of the needs of children and adults living with mental illness.We envision a just, humane and healthy society in which all people are accorded respect, dignity and the opportunity to achieve their full potential free from stigma and prejudice. Mental Health Association of Montgomery County (MHA) promotes mental wellness and supports those with mental illness by sponsoring and implementing education, advocacy and community service programs.MHA has served Montgomery County residents since 1957. MHA currently manages 8 major direct service programs for children, teens, families, senior adults and individuals with long-term mental illness. Approximately 750 volunteers implement programs under the direction of MHA’s professional staff. To help further the philosophy that mental health is as important as physical health, MHA offers affordable, valuable and timely seminars on a variety of topics to many segments of the community. Board, staff and volunteers initiate and serve on numerous committees, task forces and coalitions to help assure better mental health services for area residents. MHA also participates in advocacy on the local, state and national levels.
