Proud Moments Therapy is a behavioral health agency that was created to help children who are on the autism spectrum learn; grow; and reach their potential. We work with children and young adults aged 0-21; utilizing a service team to implement services. Our therapists are Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs); trained to implement behavioral methods to improve social; behavioral; and adaptive skills.

Proud Moments provides high quality ABA services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder via Telehealth and in person (home, school, clinic, and community) through private insurance. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts create individualized treatment goals, which are implemented by our talented team of Behavior Technicians, to improve social, communication, and functional skills and decrease challenging behaviors. We conduct parent training sessions and strive to promote independence among our clients. We serve individuals ages 2 through 21 in Maryland and DC. Most major insurances are accepted. Psych Associates of Maryland provides comprehensive behavioral health services by a group of competent, independent practitioners. We diagnose and treat children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. Psychological testing and neuropsychological testing are available for a variety of disorders, including ADHD, brain injuries and head trauma, and memory problems.

Finding the right “fit” with a physician or therapist can be key to finding a better understanding of a person’s mental health. Our team strives to work with every client in the way that works best for them. We are trained in many different modalities, allowing us to work together with clients to find the right solution for their problem.

Dr. Deija McLean offers therapy services and psychological evaluations for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related neurodevelopmental and genetic conditions. Therapy services seek to improve adaptive skills and reduce maladaptive behaviors which interfere with functioning, safety, and quality of life. Behavioral problems treated include the following: tantrums, aggression, disruptive behaviors, toilet training difficulties, mild self-injurious behaviors, elopement, sleep problems, and task refusal. Psychological evaluations involve a thorough assessment for children 2 to 17 years to identify signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In this evaluation, Dr. McLean meticulously examines social communication abilities and behaviors, including restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interest to understand each child’s unique developmental profile. By reviewing personal records, utilizing parent and teacher questionnaires, and employing targeted developmental/intellectual, language, and autism-specific assessment, the process aims to assess ASD accurately. This tailored approach ensures that each child’s specific needs are addressed, facilitating the development of targeted interventions and support strategies to enhance their well-being and developmental outcomes. It is designed to support families seeking a clearer understanding of their child’s developmental profile and to assist in identifying tailored interventions and resources. The evaluation is also beneficial for guiding decisions related to educational planning, including the development or adjustment of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or other support mechanisms within school or home settings.
