Launched in 2005 by pediatric occupational therapist, Aviva Weiss and her husband, Haskel, Fun and Function LLC has been lauded for “normalizing” the experience of being different, and helping children achieve their fullest potential. Weiss was inspired to start her own company when she discovered that one of her children had sensory processing disorder. She was frustrated by the lack of kid-friendly products, inconsistent quality, and high pricing.Today, pediatric therapists and parents value the innovative products from Fun and Function that build skills and self-esteem in children on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing disorders, speech/developmental delays, and other challenges. Daycare administrators, schools, and hospitals praise the craftsmanship and versatility of the products which foster inclusion, enabling children of all abilities to navigate their differences through play.

Fund It Forward is a volunteer run non-profit organization which believes that parents of children with special needs are strong, willing, and able to endure daily struggles. Because of the constant battles to provide the best quality of life for their children, Fund It Forward believes these families deserve help in addressing their concerns: We help them obtain expensive medical and adaptive equipment such as augmentative communication devices, bathing and feeding chairs, enclosed beds or sensory equipment. Fund It Forward will accept applications from any person who has a diagnosed disability or medical condition and is in need of a medical device or equipment that can enhance the quality of his or her life. FUND IT FORWARD operates on a pay it forward model, which means volunteers raise money for future needs. Families in need of medical or adaptive equipment for their child need to engage in fundraising efforts as part of the application process. Each applicant is reviewed based on a number of criteria which includes fundraising efforts. Successful volunteering efforts determine how many families, like yours, Fund It Forward can assist.
