The Abilities Network Project ACT program offers a unique opportunity through Therapeutic Integration for children ages 5-14 on the autism spectrum to play and learn valuable social and leisure skills within after-school and summer camp settings with their typically developing peers. A specially trained Inclusion Specialist supports these children in the program and works on personalized goals according to each child’s treatment plan. Individualized plans are centered round the strengths and needs of each child participating in the program. Abilities Network’s Project ACT program can help with the following: on-site training for child care staff; individualized child observations and support planning; center wide coaching and mentoring to increase staff knowledge and skills; family support; resource and referral services; and access to individualized services to facilitate the optimal growth and development of children.

A community-based program of the Maryland Center for Developmental  Disabilities (MCDD) at Kennedy Krieger Institute, Project HEAL provides comprehensive advocacy and civil legal services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are patients at Kennedy Krieger Institute and their families. Project HEAL attorneys collaborate with Kennedy Krieger faculty, staff and trainees to ensure that patients receive the medical and legal care they need when there is a civil legal issue requiring an attorney.

Project Lifesaver International helps provide rapid response to save lives and reduce potential for serious injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer?s; autism; Down syndrome; dementia and other related cognitive conditions. Project Lifesaver International provides in-depth training for law enforcement and other public safety agencies on the use of specialized electronic search and rescue equipment; technology and procedures; as well as teaching rescuers how to communicate with people afflicted with cognitive conditions; all of which are essential to the successful rescue of missing persons who wander or otherwise become lost. They certify search and rescue personnel and provide ongoing management to participating agencies.

Project SEARCH connects young adults and adults with special needs with work opportunities to help provide employment training and prepare them for competitive employment and a successful adult life.
