Psychological Testing is used for routine evaluation and also to more clearly identify psychiatric conditions which may be complex and/or treatment resistant. Our assessment team performs comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess academic achievement; memory; cognitive functioning; personality and behavioral functioning in children; adolescents; college students; and adults. All assessment services include an initial interview; an interpretive conference following completion of the assessment; and a written report of the assessment results with recommendations. Our Board Certified, Licensed Nutritionist will work with you to balance all these areas of your life, starting with your food and eating habits, to design a personalized plan that is tailored to you. Based in Medical Nutrition Therapy, this integrative approach brings about simple, sustainable change for long-lasting health.

The mission of the Potomac Center is to enhance the quality of life for people with intellectual / developmental disabilities by providing quality services to those individuals we serve and their families.Potomac Center provides a variety of residential support and assistance to individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities including: ICF / DD residential and group homes; specialized family / foster care homes; waiver homes; a crisis home; and a crisis / respite home. Each comfortably furnished home provides a safe and structured environment designed to meet the needs of its residents. Special support is given to individuals in our programs with the addition of a full-time therapist and behavior specialist. Activities are centered around individual need to ensure that each person lives the fullest and most enjoyable life possible. Our participation begins even before a person moves to one of our programs; and continues as they transition into the next stage of their life.

The Potomac Horse Center offers therapeutic riding lessons for children and adults with a wide range of physical; cognitive challenges including mild to profound developmental disabilities; learning disabilities; sensory integrative dysfunction; attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity; speech and language impairment; pervasive developmental disabilities; autism; Asperger syndrome; hyperlexia; microcephaly with multiple disabilities; cerebral palsy; hypotnia; tactile hypersensitivity; ataxia; dyspraxia; vision impairment/blindness; multiple sclerosis; and Angelman's syndrome. Instructor/Director Nancy Heller - a Certified Therapeutic Instructor registered with the North Atlantic Riding for the Handicapped Association - and fellow Certified Instructor Allyn Enderlyn; with the outstanding help of many trained volunteers; offers lessons that impart riding skills even as they emphasize individually designed long-term goals and weekly objectives. Dr. Taylor, completed his residency in Family Medicine at University of Maryland. Dr. Taylor has over 10 years experience and is a strong advocate of patient education. He currently practices Internal Medicine at Potomac Physicians PA. Serves Adults.
