Sheppard Pratt School is a nonpublic day school for students, grades 6-12, with emotional disturbance, autism, Asperger's syndrome, and other learning disabilities, health impairments or multiple disabilities, and whose needs require a specialized setting for education. A part of Sheppard Pratt since November, the school has been providing individualized academic, vocational and therapeutic programs to students on its Reisterstown campus since 1978, and has subsequently established schools in Anne Arundel County.

The Frost School Autism Program provides special education and related services for children ages five to twelve with autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), developmental delays in one or more areas, severe behavioral problems, multiple learning problems, and other related disorders. The school follows the Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum. Skills are taught in highly structured settings, such as discrete trial instruction, then are introduced in to less structured, natural settings. This design helps to enhance skill development while improving the child?s ability to generalize. Additional components of the program include small group instruction, individualized student daily schedules, and life skills training. The Forbush School at Oakmont provides special education and related services to children ages 12-21 with autism; pervasive developmental disorder (PDD); developmental delays in one or more areas; severe behavioral problems; multiple learning problems; and other related disorders. The school serves up to 24 students with 4 classrooms.After a period of evaluation; individualized education programs (IEP's) are developed to meet each child's specific needs. Skills are taught in highly structured settings and program components include: discrete trial; direct instruction; play based instruction; motor skill development and sensory integration strategies; natural aided language stimulation; community based instruction; and positive behavioral support.Professional staff includes certified teachers; teaching assistants; 1:1 instructional aides; a licensed speech and language pathologist; a licensed occupational therapist; a licensed psychologist; and behavioral support staff.The Forbush School at Oakmont is approved as a Type I; 12 month program by the Maryland State Department of Education.

Sheppard Pratt School at Millersville Elementary School is a 10-month special education program, located in Millersville Elementary School, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, serving students ages five to 11 with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disabilities, and other health impairments. Our program is designed to meet your child’s special education needs while providing maximum opportunity to integrate them into Millersville Elementary School’s educational program as appropriate. Once enrolled, our experienced staff will review your child’s Individual Education Placement (IEP) and modify our instructional areas to fit his or her educational needs.
