The Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics Division offers comprehensive consultation, evaluation and treatment for children, birth to age 21, with developmental and behavioral problems. A Developmental Pediatrician is board certified in General Pediatrics and in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Developmental Pediatricians have additional training and expertise in identifying and managing disorders of development, learning and behavior. We communicate regularly with the family, referring physician and school system to insure best outcomes for children referred to our practice. Secondary Office Address:

The Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics Division offers comprehensive consultation; evaluation and treatment for children; birth to age 21; with developmental and behavioral problems.The division maintains special services for children with school problems and toddlers and pre-schoolers with behavioral or developmental issues; children with pervasive developmental disorder/autism (PDD) and SIDS families; and works closely with child psychiatrists as a liaison for patients and families.

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; Office of Genetics and People with Special Health Care Needs is very pleased to announce that the partnership with the University of Maryland; Baltimore to provide services for children identified with feeding and nutritional issues at a regional clinic on the Eastern Shore has been so successful this past year that it will be increasing the number of clinics and moving to the site of the Kinera Hub; a regional pediatric specialty hub which has recently opened. The University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute offers a comprehensive line of dentistry services for both children and adults.

Our staff includes dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and customer support staff. Fellows and residents in pediatric dentistry from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry also work in our dental practice.

Our board-certified pediatric dentists strive to make dental visits a positive experience for all kids.

Because of their experience, training, and passion for serving the needs of all, our team can extend care to special needs children and adults who may otherwise have difficulty accessing the kind of services they need.

The clinic is accessible to those with disabilities and different needs. This includes offering general anesthesia for patients who need a higher level of sedation or working with patients while they are in their wheelchairs.

We accept a wide range of private dental insurance plans as well as Medicaid. Private plans that we accept include (but are not limited to):

Most disabled children have their health insurance through the Maryland Medicaid Program. Eligible children have full dental coverage (preventive, restorative, diagnostic) up to age 21. People over 21 with Medicaid have different levels of coverage depending on their managed care organization.

Along with the University of Maryland Dental School, UM Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute Dental Service is one of the largest providers of dental care for the Maryland Medicaid Program.
