The University of Maryland School of Dentistry's Pediatric Dental Clinic offers comprehensive dental services for children.Treatment is focused on the oral health and unique dental needs of children ages 6 months to 16 years, including children with special needs. Depending on the child's age and dental needs, treatment may be provided by a pre-doctoral dental student or a post-doctoral dental resident. Residents are licensed dentists completing an additional two years of specialty training in pediatirc dentistry. 

Special Care and Geriatric Services provides comprehensive dental service for individuals with special needs and older adults.  

Unlock the Yet Educational Coaching supports elementary and middle school learners in building academic skills and confidence. We offer support in reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and social skills, with an engaging, individualized approach that meets each child where they are. If your child could use extra support or a confidence boost, we’d love to help.

The intent of the Up-County Family Center is to provide and promote; through mutual respect; opportunities that strengthen and build healthy and positive family functioning for all. As part of its effort to accomplish this goal; Up-County offers the following programs. Free on-site developmental childcare for parents accessing programs In-Home services Recreational and social activities (includes field trips) Ages & Stages Developmental Screening for children Teen parent programs Interagency guest speakers Participant Leadership Health EducationFree on-site childcare for parents accessing programs are offered for families preparing for the birth of a child and for children under the age of four. Your infants will enjoy their early learning experiences. New parents and parents of infants can participate in infant health and education programs including pre-natal and post-natal monitoring.Toddlers can participate in recreational social and developmental activities geared for their emotional and physical development. Young mothers and fathers who have had their education interrupted and would like to complete requirements for their high school diploma can pick up where they left off. Up-County offers the following programs in high school and adult education: Alternative High School courses; Flexible High School; Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Equivalency Diploma (GED). You can upgrade your job skills in Up-County’s computer lab. Participants receive employment training services that include computer literacy; typing; advanced computer courses; and other job readiness skills. You will also have access to the Job Network and opportunities to discuss career goals. Participants who come to the Center will find a wide range of recreational and social activities available to them. Highlights include a weekly schedule of parent/child activities such as – music and movement; Mom’s Club weekly; lunches every Monday; Tuesday; and Thursday; dinners quarterly; and much more. A calendar of events is available in the Center.The Home Visitor will meet with families to discuss strengths and needs; making referrals to community agencies as needed.

UCR offers innovative programs; events; and social opportunities for the members of our community with developmental differences. We meet at locations throughout Montgomery County; MD but are primarily based in upper Montgomery County. These opportunities promote healthy lifestyles; friendships; self-awareness; and personal-development. Some programs run as drop-in and some run for several-sessions over consecutive months. Some activities are perfect for anyone; others require a particular interest or skill. UCR’s program leaders are experienced professionals who work with our staff to ensure each members experience is a success.
