PARTNERS FOR SUCCESS: Resource Centers for Families and Schools are partnerships between the local school system and the Maryland State Department of Education. The purpose of these centers is to provide the skills and knowledge that will enable families of children and youth with disabilities, ages 3 to 21, and professionals to function as equal partners in the educational decision making process and to assist families in accessing services for their children.

Special Education Parent Response Unit staff are available (443-984-1561)to respond to concerns regarding special education. Concerned individuals may call 410-396-7197 or 410-396-7198 or write Preschool Placements; Room 26; Preschool Intake; 2500 East Northern Parkway; Baltimore; MD 21214. A Child Find referral will be completed by the Preschool Intake representative. For additional information; contact the educational specialist for preschools at the above telephone numbers. Child Find is a process used to identify Baltimore City children; ages 3 through 20; who may be in need of special education and related services. A Child Find Hotline (410-396-622) responds to inquiries regarding children; ages 3 through 20; suspected of having a disability. Child Find staff also assist with referrals of children; ages 3 through 20; who are enrolled in public; private; or parochial schools.
